I like coffee. Not in any got to have me some or enough to have a favorite brand or anything like that. I just like to drink something warm and flavoursome sometimes. I also have 2 sugars to really pep me up.
My phone does not like coffee. Yesterday while we were having a little going away party for someone at work I was expecting a phone call. So I put my phone on silent and placed it on top of (I thought) empty coffee mug. The theory behind that was when the phone vibrated it would make noise against the mug, enough to notify me of what was happening and not disturb the party. There were two problems wrong with this theory. One, the coffee mug was not empty. Two, the phone made no noise when it went off. It did vibrate around but it fell into the coffee instead of off the mug. I fished it out straight away but there was coffee pouring out of the inside. I also answered the call which had made the phone fall in after allowing most of the coffee to drain. Some still got in my ear and on my face though. Very funny.
I have spent the last 24 hours monitoring the slow process of moisture destroying my screen. It has a coffee stain on the top right and it now ripples attractively when the light hits it. If I wasn't worried about the effect of moisture on electronics I'd say it was very cool. As it is, I may need to buy a new phone. Just before christmas is a pretty good time to do that actually with lots of deals out there. Especially with the launch of 3 new 3G products. So it's really not a big downer I just feel silly.
Does this mean I'm going to give up on coffee? Not at all. I'm just going to finish the mug next time :)

That's as bad as my "The DVD player broke in the move so I need a new one" excuse.
I can imagine your phone's screen getting all moist, and the LCD slowly being destroyed. And I have no doubt that the phone is sticky. Maybe that's why I don't like coffee anywhere else. Just in my mouth, down my throat and probably inside my stomach. I lose track after that.
Hey, That;s really cool stuff. Thanks a lot for that post.
The best one was the last line( "Does this mean I'm going to give up on coffee? Not at all. I'm just going to finish the mug next time :)"
