Ever since I started working at Education Queensland (4th November) I have caught public transport to and from work with 2 exceptions when I got a lift from Vanessa (greatly appreciated btw). Three times I've caught a train. Every other time has been by bus. Now people can be proud of some very minor things in their life. Their collection of cabbage patch dolls (not me), Star Wars book collection (it's over 60) or their miniatiure chihuahua that barks incessantly. However, what I am most proud of at the moment is that in all those bus trips (and that adds up to a lot) I have only ever once had to press the bell to signal that I was getting off at the next stop. Which I think is quite amazing. Is it just that other people aren't patient or that I just don't care? Who knows really.
The one time I did have to press the bell I whacked some lady in the head as I was getting off as well. I felt pretty bad about that but she took it ok. It was obviously an accident but still very clumsy of me.
We lost indoor soccer last night. We only had 3 of us (it's 4-a-side) so we had a sub and we were playing a very good team. We were just about holding our own but it was 8-5 at 3 quarter time so we decided to put me on the field to get some more running. The final score was 16-5. Now I don't think I'm that much better then other people in goal and to be honest the defense was terrible as the other guys stopped running but it is still gratifying when someone else goes in goal and lets in the same number of goals as you in 1/3 of the time. Probably also a lack of confidence by everybody concerned in the new keepers ability as well.
Anyway, I'm off to go look at a job I discovered that sounds like the same position but pays more. If I did get it (it's a permanent position) I would be forced to buy an MX-5. At the moment it's only extremely likely that I'll buy one but if I did start earning more money then there is no reason not to spend it on a car (IMO). Anyway, that's all from me. Have a good weekend everybody.
