Lazy me

As some of you may be aware, I've been in my job for over a year. Being a government job, that meant an automatic pay rise. And since I started at almost the same time as my birthday, the two were very close together which I was pretty happy about. But these last two days I've been feeling pretty lazy at work because I've felt the need to live up to stereotypes because I am now a permanent employee of the Queensland Government. Huzzah for me!

Of course, that's only because the other guy has left which has meant I've been really, really busy on some of these days but I'm choosing to ignore that minor quibble :) It'll all quiet down over Christmas so we can then get to work on some projects that we want to do as opposed to only doing what needs to be done. Semi-exciting times.

Anyway, wanted to share that news with whoever is reading this that I haven't already told. Which is a few. And also in celebration (and because an old mate is in town) I shall be having a long public servant lunch today. And then going to the Roar game. All in all, today is looking pretty good.

Congrats on the permanentship. I know it might not be exactly what you want but it will alleviate some of the pressure of every now and then worrying about what is going to happen with your position.

Welcome to the permie club... see you at lunch... your first beer is on me!! :)
