AFL Dream Team

And so it begins. After three weeks of pre-season, and lots of reading of the AFL prospectus, this year I feel that I'm in a position to do well. The first week is this week and I'm playing my room-mate Brad. Both teams are scoring similar scores, and we've been following a similar strategy. It's going to be very interesting to see how the final result comes out, and it may come down to choice of captain. Brad Johnson, 85 points was mine. Which isn't a bad score, but if Pavlich comes out and gets 110+ then I start to struggle. I think overall my team should win, but the choice of captain will be crucial.

In other sporting news, my team at soccer is still unbeaten. We've got our 6th game of the season today but it is against the team that's coming third...we're second and we've already played against (and drawn with) the top team, so it's very doable. The problem is that we have no central midfielders as the two people who normally play there are unavailable for some reason. So it should be interesting to see what happens.

Other then that, new guy starting at work on Monday. No idea how he's going to go, being government we had to give the position on merit despite any personal feelings about how they will perform in the role. I'm not terribly confident in their ability, but it goes to show you need to prepare for the interview and you can get the position even when you're not the best applicant.

Oh, and I'm going water-skiing tomorrow. Hopefully I'll still be able to walk fine at the end of this weekend :)
