So very very cold

So, the house I'm living in is being renovated. Slowly, piece by
piece. I believe I have mentioned at some point that it has a bar in
the living room, along with a pool table. If I haven't, I have now :)

Anyway, it's being renovated. Stage 1 was to get the plasterer in and
to redo the windows. So currently my roof is bare....something and I
have a brand new window. I also have a brand new radiator.
Unfortunately, it's not on. Neither is the hot water. I assume they're
connected somehow (I really don't know) but I do know that all the
radiators are being moved around / upgraded. And we're getting a brand
new kitchen. The problem I have is that the hot water has not been put
back on as the radiators aren't ready for it. Or something like that.
All I know is that I'm huddled under the covers, the laptop on my lap
which is the only warm part of my body. I'm still fully dressed and
I'm still cold! Worst yet, I cannot have a warm shower in the morning.
Fan-bloody-tastic.

In other news, I've gotten most of my music back into iTunes on my
computer. I'm listening to Carmen at the moment, which is quite
soothing actually. Which was the whole point of buying the classical
music CD, to relax me :) I think I'm coming down with a bit of a cold
actually though. Strangely, there is an Elvis impersonator teaching
golf on the TV....isn't pay TV random?

So my Easter was different. I didn't get any chocolate, which was
disappointing. Well, I did get a cherry ripe. Two shocking facts about
Jamie are that she can't swim and that she doesn't like cherry ripes.
So the first one is more shocking, but I can't understand anybody not
liking cherry ripes...it seems wrong. The Tim Tams were good though.

Also, for all those using gmail in Safari, do not upgrade to 3.1
Safari yet as you will find that you've lost the ability to use
capitals while composing Rich Text emails. No fix yet, but there are a
lot of people out there with the same problem. Sure, you could just
use firefox or change the formatting to plain text. But why should I
have to? Not happy about that. What I am happy about though is the
googlechat widget for my google homepage. Safari also can't handle
googletalk within gmail, so I've been forced to not use it at home. I
went to download the separate application and found out that you can
add a widget to my homepage. So that made me happy :)

What else is new? I got snowed on again on Sunday...honestly I'm over
it, give me an Australian summer anyday. Well, unless I've got all my
winter clothes on, in which let it snow let it snow let it snow!

And no, I don't want to talk about Dreamteam this week.....it wasn't a
good result compared to last year, when I think I was ranked 87th out
of everybody. I've come up with my buying price for Guitar Hero 3,
which is £40. Since the cheapest I've found it is $65, it could be a
while before I get it :) Anyway, that's enough for another night, I
think I'll try and sleep i this igloo of a house....bloody England.

Sounds like the renovations are messing with your life a little bit. Given your track record with how easily you get cold I'm surprised your fingers are not frozen so hard you can't type. What's the temp roughly at night times over there at the moment?
