A New Car

As everyone who knows me knows, I want a new car. This is mainly because the car I have at the moment i find disappointing in so many ways. Mainly that I've spent so much money on it. The main annoying thing at the moment is the fact that when you press on the windscreen wiper stalk, what should happen is that water should squirt on to the front windscreen, followed several seconds later by the windscreen wipers wiping it off, leaving a nice clean windscreen for my driving enjoyment (ignoring the fact I haven't cleaned the inside in like, ever). What actually happens is that water squirts out on to the rear windscreen, followed several seconds later by the front windscreen wipers. There is an option to (normally) squirt the rear windscreen. This now squirts the front. So to actually clean the front you a) engage what should be the rear squirter, and is actually the front squirter and then b) put the windscreen wipers on to an appropriate speed. While not sounding that difficult, I never think to do this when not moving, so concentrating on staying in my lane whilst operating all this with my left hand is difficult. And is therefore annoying.

Anyway, I spend a lot of time reading about cars to make sure I don't get ripped off on the next one I buy. Now, I know it makes a lot more sense to buy a used car as you save a lot of money. I know this. I want a new one so I can pick all the options I want. But first I need to pick a car to drive. In an ideal world I would get an MX-5. I've wanted ever since I got my present car which has a Targa top and decided a convertible would be better so I wouldn't have to put the panels on and off. I can live with the time it takes to put the roof up and down as long as I don't have to put 2 seperate panels in the boot. And then get them out and put them back in when I get wherever I'm going. What is more likely is a Ford Focus. Which look to be very nice.

But this is all hypothetical until I pay off my current car loan. Or get a new job that pays a lot more money and can then afford not to wait till I'm out of debt. Still, it's nice to have a dream.
