Can't blog

playing Civ 4 far too much. Since I bought it I've only been out of the house on a non-work related activity 3 times. Twice for indoor sport and once to meet up with a friend. Since they organised it and promised to actually show up this time (unlike the last few times) I thought I might as well.

So tonight I've decided to regain something of a social life. Since I need a whole bunch of new stuff and I got paid this week it's time to go shopping. Get my hair cut is number one on the list, there's a present I want to buy for somone who reads this (They're not a dentist so I could show you their face, but that'd give it away) so I can't mention what it is. So the plan is to go straight to Garden City after work via bus, do shopping, eat dinner and see a movie. I'm currently trying to see if I can get some people to come with me. Good luck to me I say. I'm not holding out much hope.

And I'm deliberately not blogging about Civ 4 as it's just too good a game to put down in words. It needs to be experienced to do it justice. Suffice to say if you're ever experienced the "just one more turn" phenomenon you'll love it. I know I do.

And speaking of Yoda, what I'd like to do is make a program that takes a sentence and converts it into Yoda speak. I can do it intuitively but back at Uni I did a Natural Language Processing course that showed how to cut sentences up into verbs, nouns and all those fancy things. You wouldn't need a large dictionary as it would cut it up at several easily identifiable parts. For example, clouds everything the dark side does should be The dark side clouds everything. I don't know my English well enough to do it, but I can see how it could be done by a person with a keen understanding of English and a programming language. That person is unfortunately not me. Until then I will have to content myself with working it out in my head. The other thing you need are short sentences. The longer the sentences the harder it is to do. That's enough for one day, back to work.
