Music

After purchasing my guitar, there has been one song I've been wanting to learn for ages. Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's. Which is an interesting choice as I recently got Black Holes and Revelations by Muse to listen to. So I've decided that when I'm playing music, I like Soft Guitar Based Rock. Kind of an interesting Genre (that I'm pretty sure I made up). It includes the aforementioned song, then there is also any song Bernard Fanning has done as a solo effort. There are plenty of other examples.

That's acoustic songs anyway. If I had an electric guitar it'd be more punk based, simply because they're easy to play (power chords, yee-ha!). When I want to get fancy then I bring out Looking Out My Backdoor or Tears in Heaven. But generally soft rock.

Whereas listening is just general rock, as long as it's guitar based it's almost guaranteed that I'll like it. But then of course there are the exceptions, like Girls by Calvin Harris. I wouldn't want to be pigeon-holed now would I? ;)
