Wow, what a weekend

Australia day was absolutely fantastic. My original plan was to go to
the Uluru bar in Manchester, talk to some people about signing up for
the Manchester
Mozzies AFL club. Which I did. I also bought 3 raffle tickets, to
help the club out because I never win these things.

Obviously that day was a bit different, as that day I won my first
raffle ever. And in true Aussie style, I won my weight in beer. Which
comes out as 6 cartons. I do know that I weigh 73.3 kilos, which is
always good to know. I of course didn't have anyway to get it back
home, so I'll be picking it up when I go to training. That's one way
to get me there :)

After that, went out to The Walkabout in town with some people I'd met
that night and had a great time there as well. Then on Sunday I went
and bought my shiny new apple macbook. It is the base version, so
nothing fancy but it's running Leopard and gee it's nice. I have
nothing installed yet, so it is pretty quick still. I think it takes
about 5 seconds, if that, to shut down. Still no internet access at
home, so I've brought it to work with me to install software I need.

So yes, that was my weekend. It was really good to be surrounded by
Australian accents again. Apparently I'm losing mine as everyone said
I didn't have a strong one..which is a bit odd as I definitely got
told by an american girl back home that I did have a strong one.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll improve with time.

Anyway, back to installing software. Happy Birthday to Mum and AJ!

Ahhh that explains the "I won my weight in beer" comment from earlier. Congrats, that's a cool prize, do you get to pick the beer?

You're not going to do a Kylie or Jimmy Barnes on us are you and rock back over here with some imported accent? I never thought you had a strong one to start with but that's because I don't think I have one either... or most people. I guess you don't hear it when you're used to it.

Glad you had a good time and made some new mates. Also glad you're getting into some sport, I know how rewarding it can be and I know you know that already. A hobby is always fun! Best of luck with training!
