Sore

Today I had my second session of AFL training. It was a lot more physical today, I laid a few tackles and generally got muddy. What was most interesting was the fact in the six a side handball game I got put in the ruck. I tried, but I won 1 tap, so I don't think I'll be staying there. I did give the other guy a cork, so it wasn't a complete loss. I had a talk to the coach afterwards, and although that's one spot he's thinking of he's also thinking of half-forward....all that kicking for goal practice down at Yeronga has helped. The two times I've been there I've been in the last round of the goal kicking (admittedly it hasn't gone many rounds) so the chance to kick lots of goals appeals to me. We'll see what happens at the Cardiff tournament. One thing I just thought of was that if I get my British passport (which I could) I'd then count as an EU citizen for the quota requirements. Plus that would make it easier to get around Europe, and since I need to get a new passport anyway (apparently the barcode doesn't scan) it's something I should look into. I do have a few bruises from it, so I know I was involved.

Not much else happening really, work is busy, my bike has a busted tyre and I don't have the tools to fix it. The place I'm living at has gotten new windows and doors as well. Not much difference there to me, maybe it'll improve the heat holding ability of the house? Not likely, it is a very cold house. The water is always hot in the shower though, so I can't really complain. Sorry for the kind of boring update, I don't even have photos of a coach to show (like some). Have a good week everybody.

WoooOOootttTTTtt!! And here I thought all the goal kicking we did was just wasted time. You know I need to be kept updated on all the latest in terms of footy.

They have threatened to put me in the ruck a few times. Damn being this tall (not that I am THAT tall but in the 3rds we struggle for height)... once they even did and the runner told me the msg... but thankfully 30 secs later the final siren went and I never had to contest.

Done it a few times in 7 a side and had a few taps but I'm not cut out for it either. It is a very specific skill.
