World Cup - England

Hi All

As anybody who has talked to me about the World Cup knows, I've written off England as not good enough to win it. I'm starting to re-think my position though. Good teams are able to play badly and still win which is what England have done twice now and are through to the knock out rounds. It's still possible my original summation was correct and as soon as they meet a good side they will be beaten. But it's worth keeping an eye out if they start coming in to form. And with Rooney still to come back, there's a good chance they will.

Brazil was very shaky against Croatia, and only just won. But they still did and that's why they're considered the best team in the world. England do it and they're considered to be playing badly. Hmmmm.

But it's not looking easy for the Socceroo's. Even if we win against Brazil we're still not guaranteed to get through to the next round if Croatia beat Japan (like everyone expects them too. It's exciting though...I'm loving the World Cup.

In other soccer related news, I have a grade 2 strain of my medial ligament on my right knee. So no more sport for 4-6 weeks apart from bike riding. I don't own a bike so that doesn't really matter. Hopefully I'll be back to full strength soon and can get back to playing sport as otherwise I will get fat as I eat too many donuts :)
